If you telephone the local surgery outside working hours your call will be transferred to Harmoni (based in Clacton-on-Sea) who provide an out-of-hours service.

You can also telephone NHS Direct on 0845 4647.  They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for confidential health advice and information.

If you and your GP decide that you need to see a specialist for more treatment, you can (for most medical conditions) choose when and where to have your treatment from a list of hospitals and clinics.
